Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Multnomah Neighborhood Association. Volunteers play an important role in supporting our projects. Below are some current volunteer opportunities. To get started, review the opportunities and ways to get connected. Additionally, check our calendar for event details.
Graffiti abatement and trash removal with Livability. Submit a volunteer interest form.
Project-based volunteer needs. If interested, email Julie at secretary@mnapdx.org:
Planning team: Seeking 3-5 people to help plan our largest ever free Dumpster day in late August 2026.
[High priority] Seeking a builder: Build and installation of the Puzzle Library base. MNA will provide materials.
Recycling champion: Take charge in having all our events be zero/minimal waste. Materials will be provided.
Safety Monitor Lead(s): Several times a year, Multnomah Village is in need of Safety Street Monitors for large events. Time: A few times a year, determined by event.
Communications volunteer roles. Interested? Email communications@mnapdx.org.
[NEW; High priority] Booth Staff: We need help staffing our informational booths at neighborhood events like Earth Day, Multnomah Days, the Holiday Gala, etc. Join an experienced MNA leader to learn about our organization while interacting with the public.
Membership coordinator: Do you have marketing and/or sales experience? We would love guidance on how best to connect and engage with people who live in the neighborhood.
Newsletter Editor(s): Seeking 1-2 newsletter editors to compile articles, updates and events into a monthly newsletter. Experience with Mailchimp is helpful, but training can be provided.
Website editor(s): Help maintain this website by adding new content, upcoming events and keeping everything fresh and clean. Time: 2-3 hours a month.
Stewardship events: Join Portland Parks & Recreation and Friends of Spring Garden Park for family-friendly events to get outside, enjoy nature, and help care for your local park. Check dates and register with Portland Parks & Recreation.
Community Events
Art in the Village: We are planning a “micro mural” for the viaduct under Capitol Hwy on Multnomah Blvd due to high levels of tagging. Email arts@mnapdx.org.
Village Park seeks neighbors to help continue to develop this beautiful space. Submit a volunteer interest form.
Accounting: Are you a Quickbooks whiz? You could be an on-call tutor when our Treasurer has a question. Time: On-call. ~60-90 minutes per month. Email treasurer@mnapdx.org.
